To make a list of the selected parameters of objects in a worksheet:
1. Make an object
2. Open ResourceBrowser window(Window/Palettes)
a. Open dropdown Resources, choose "New Record Format"
Assign name to Record Format
Add field(s) as desired
Assign name(s) to Field(s)
Assign Data type(s) to Field(s)
Format Data Type(s )
Set Decimal places to Data type(s)
Set default value(s) to Field(s)
OK when done...a new Record Format appears in Resource Browser.
b. Repeat (a.) as desired.
3. Tools Menu/Reports/CreateReport
a. Assign name to report
Choose what to list...eg "Objects with a Record"
Choose what fields to list
Examine Options button
OK....brings up a dummy WorkSheet and
adds WorkSheet to Resource Browser
b. In WorkSheet Row1... Field names from step 1 appear
Select and hold Row2...popup...select Database"...very important
Select Row2 and Hold on Dropdown arrow (below red X)
and select PasteCriteria...lots of choices here...pick some
In WorkSheet text box type "="...very important
Select Row2 ColA...Hold on Dropdown arrow (below red X)
and select PasteFunction...lots of choices here...pick some
eg XCenter
Click on the Green CheckMark symbol...very important
Repeat for all of Row2
From the DropDown Arrow select ReCalculate......very important
If some objects already have Records attached, they will appear in the Worksheet as sub items under Row2
Row2.0 holds the sum of the subrows.
c. Otherwise, a record format must be attached to the object(s) you are interested in listing in this worksheet....how do you do this?
Drag&Drop the Record Format from the ResourceBrowser
onto the object...all subsequent copies of this object will
have the RecordFormat attached and appear in the listing
Or else...select the object and in the ResourceBrowser select the desiredRec ord Format...thenselect "Apply" in the "Resources"
dropdown menu.
Or else, in the object's ObjInfo Window/Data section, place a checkin the box
next to the appropriate RecordFormat.
Remember to recalculate"...very important... but there is a Preference setting somewhere allowing auto recalculate...this may be in
the WorkSheet DropDown/Preferences...??
d. You can put away the WorkSheet now by closing the Editor. It can be recalled by clicking on its icon in the Resource Browser.
It will appear on the drawing.
4. Save the Database using File/Export/Export Worksheet.
5. NOTE: All attributes of all objects are not available in the PasteFunction dropdown.
I don't kow how to correct this.
